Narrative During Books The Two Towers (The Omni Towers #1)
Book One in The Two Towers series (Post-Apocalyptic Romance) One hundred and fifty years after the earth was ravaged by war, the two self-sustaining towers built by OmniLab continue to offer a safe haven for those who paid the hefty price to assure their family's survival. But on the surface, there are others who have survived over the years struggling to barter and trade artifacts found within the ruins of the crumbling cities in exchange for critical supplies. When Kayla, a ruin rat skilled in computer hacking and scavenging, discovers a strange artifact known as The Aurelia Data Cube, she finds herself inadvertently caught up in a series of events that threatens the lives of the mysterious and elusive people within OmniLab. Carl, an unorthodox negotiator with a head for business, is determined to eradicate the corruption amongst his OmniLab brethren and has no qualms about using Kayla to do it. Unfortunately, he wasn't counting on the vastness of the corruption or his own feelings for the headstrong woman who turns his life upside down. Caught between the life she knew and a dangerous world that's claimed her as their own, Kayla learns the fearful truth behind just how far one man will go to obtain power and how far she'll go to survive.Details Books To The Two Towers (The Omni Towers #1)

Adding a romantic element to a strong SF plotline makes a far more interesting story and for a debut novel I thought The Two Towers was really excellent. There is a good plot and the dynamics between to two leads comes across very well. More books like this from the author please! This a post apocalypse story of a young woman named Kayla working for a scavenging group retrieving valuables from the ruins of buildings from the war 150 years earlier. Kayla has an extraordinary sense that seems to guide her in finding the most valuable relics. Eventually she discovers that this extraordinary sense is not a random event. This falls somewhat into the category of a secret ruling group that lords over everyone else, a common plot line for these kind of stories, with elements of
First let me just say that this is one of those books that sinks its hooks into you and doesn't let go. So don't start it unless you have cleared your schedule. You have been warned! The Two Towers is set 150 years in the future. The world has been ravaged by war, and unless you were one of the select few who could buy a residence in the elitist towers built by Omnilab it was up to fate wether you would survive. Kayla is the descendant of the lucky few who survived outside the towers.A "ruin rat"
I absolutely enjoyed this book, so much in fact that- I pulled an all nighter! I believe the author has done a fantastic job world building. The characters are well written with rich personalities and the storyline was well thought out and had enough action to keep it interesting. There were some plot twists; some you see coming and some you don't. This is a definite read for anyone who loves apocalyptic NA with a sprinkle of sci-fi.
One of the great things about Kindle Unlimited is that I can borrow books that I wouldn't "normally" read.BENEATH THE FALLEN CITY is the first book of what looks like a 6 book series (so far). Book 1 is a lot of world building detailing the who's who and the what's what. There are a few weird twists and it seems as if the story line was being plotted as it was written. It changes direction and it never really puts itself back in the same direction again.I will be adding book 2 to my TBR pile
Jamie A. Waters magically transports her readers to a war ravaged world of post apocalyptical action, doused with political and emotional upheaval along with some ill-timed romance. Carefully building her domain into a well oiled machine she holds us close and dares us to look away. Torn between two very opposite lives with a multitude of obstacles and loves, her heroine fights for truth, personal freedom and the right of every human...to live. I fell hopelessly in love with the completely
