The Last Song
Seventeen-year-old Veronica 'Ronnie' Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father . . . until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.
The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms - first love, the love between parents and children - that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts . . . and heal them.
First of all you should excuse me in advance since this is only the first ever review that I write not only for a book but for well whatever...and well also apart from that it's the first book I've read since at least ten years ago...and that's not all hehe, until now I was used to reading a different style of books...Having a first view of the book I could tell that probably I don't belong to the "target group" that this novel is more suitable for...the plot and well Nicholas Sparks previous
As most of you know, I LOVE Nicholas Sparks. I did find this book very predictable more so than most of his other books. I can see where it would appeal to the "younger" crowd. The main character is 17 yrs old and with Miley Cyrus having a say in the character's name and a dedication in front of the book, it is sure to be a seller among young teen readers! However, I am not sure how I feel about this book. The story is sad, frustrating and unrealistic at times. I don't like the way the mother
Don't hesitate reading any of Nicholas Sparks books if you are a hopeless romantic...Ronnie - short for Veronica - is a troubled seventeen-year-old. Her parents divorced three years ago, and she hasn't spoken to, or seen her father since then. When she is forced to spend the summer with her dad in a small beach town in North Carolina, she is soon on the edge of `out-of-control'. However, over the weeks of the summer, she experiences her first love, and discovers things that change not only her
I finished The Last Song and have sufficiently recovered from the thumping toothache it gave me from being so saccharine and sweet. Even after finishing it and mulling it over a bit, Im still not entirely sure I liked it. I think Im leaning very much towards no.Veronica Ronnie Miller is 17 and going through 'that' stage. Shes disrespectful to her mother, she goes out partying and clubbing in New York where she lives and shes also had a slight run in with the law due to some shoplifting. And shes
I first read this book 8 or 9 years ago before the movie came out and I absolutely loved it (I also loved the movie and it is a fairly good adaptation but the book is better. The book is almost always better). I am glad to say that years later, my opinion on the book hasn't changed and I loved it just as much this time around. When I was younger, I used to love all of Nicholas Sparks's books. It was around when this one came out that my feelings towards his books started to change. I read this
I've read a few Sparks books and for the most part, Ive really enjoyed them from beginning to end. However, The Last Song took me quite a while to get into, and I was very close to throwing in the towel and giving up. To be honest, I realized I went into reading it with a bad attitude. *is ashamed* I'll explain my resistance... two words... one person... Miley Cyrus. Not a huge fan of hers, so when I started this book, her image and voice resonated in my brain and it matched perfectly with
