Decent story but needs some work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I had high hopes for this book. The concept was great and Im not going to spoil it by telling you what it was about. However, what I thought it was going to be and what it ended up being was two different things. One of the big drawbacks of the story is the female lead character, Laryssa. She is annoying. Either crying or fighting, being dramatic, or just plain doesnt know what she wants. The male lead, Alex, is patient - overly patient,Patricia has an amazing way with words, Her Lover's Face was one of the first books I've read and was instantly drawn into the story. It was as if I were one of the characters, to make the reader feel all the emotions as the characters all feeling is one that a great writer does. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a love story that has everything in it from humour, suspense and love.Loved it. Your fan Patricia. Heather Teston
I loved this book by Patricia Elliott, she has a great way of drawing the reader into the story. I also very much enjoy the levels of emotion she draws out of her characters. I would highly recommend this well-crafted romance book, it held me from start to finish. I have been privileged to read advance copies of her new books and I know her readership will love the new stories too.
When I picked up this book I expected a fairly traditional alpha male romance, not that there is anything wrong with that. But the book turned out to be much more original and bolder than that. For a start, the heroine is 24 weeks pregnant at the beginning of the book. And the father is not the hero. The father is his dead brother. See? Run of the mill romance this aint. Patricia Elliott weaves a sensual, passionate tale full of family secrets, intrigue and danger, until the will-they wont they
When I first this book a couple years ago, I'll admit I didn't expect it to be a very fruitful read. I was just looking for a way to pass the time because I was bored. However, as soon as I began to read the prologue and chapter 1, I was hooked. Usually, a book takes time to read so I periodically look at which chapter I've reached by that time. But this book had me addicted....once I started, I couldn't stop flipping the pages until I finished. I looked up at the time and saw that I was way
A good romance mixed with danger.Laryssa meets Alex who resembles her dead, abusive husband. I like how Laryssa is determined to live her life by her rules, and not let another man mistreat her again. Alex suffers from a tragedy of his own. Both are damaged and afraid to get close to each other. I like how they face their demons. There is danger in the story.
