Night Whispers (Warriors: Omen of the Stars #3)
The deadly battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan is over, but the aftermath still echoes around all four Clans. As Dovepaw grapples with the knowledge that there are realms--and cats--her senses cannot reach, Jayfeather and Lionblaze are determined to figure out how StarClan could have allowed this fight to happen. Jayfeather soon finds the answer in the darkest of places, and he and Lionblaze prepare to do whatever they can to staunch the flow of evil into ThunderClan.
The ties that bind the Clans are slowly breaking in the face of the greatest threat that the warriors--and the warrior code--have ever known. As leaf-bare closes its grip upon the territories, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Dovepaw realize just how close the battle is, and how far they are from being able to succeed. And before the prey can run again, one more cat will be lost to the fight.
It took me FOREVER to read this book, but despite that it was still a pretty good read. Most interesting was the moment where Lionblaze called Jayfeather Jay. Literally no cat has ever called another by the first part of their name so that was weird and I had to read over it like four times.
In my opinion this is a good book. it shows the rising conflict between the clans as they are losing trust in each other to the point where they are even reluctant to go to gatherings. it also shows the true cruelness and deception of each and every cat of the place of no stars as there are multiple points where I wouldn't be surprised if one cat they're training dies in the dark forest (examples: the river training section, the boulder section, etc.)
It feels like the Erins were really struggling to hold it together with this one - the first two thirds felt like a panic to bridge the gap between two major story arcs, and it only really got going nearing page 200 or so. Before that it was much of the same thing with hints at mystery and danger, however once it did take off, it took OFF! the last third was fast paced and full of vital development and set up for the stakes of the second half of the sub-series, with some decent surprises. When
As the war between the Clans and the Dark Forest cats draws closer, the bond between the Clans is deteriorating. The war between ThunderClan and ShadowClan is over, but left a deep rift between them. All the other clans are growing wary, and StarClan even warns the medicine cats to not trust the other Clans. Meanwhile, Ivypaw is still visiting the Dark Forest and training with Hawkfrost. Despite Dovepaw's pleas for her to stop, she doesn't listen. She's frustrated that her sister receives so
This book is amazing and I could not put it down.
Very good book. Goes along well in the series! I highly recommend the series to any non fiction readers/ fantasy readers!
