How to readlove it
The book is slightly in the mature category for a bm novel but overall it was an okay read with quite an original storyline. The good part of this book was the fusion of hadith into the storyline in order to justify the changes Adam made to be a better person. Namun, i think the character profiling terlalu perfect; hensem, kaya, pintar, cantik, lemah-lembut...dalam satu pakej yang menjadi trend watak-watak utama dalam novel bm. It would be nice to read a character yang berbeza dari style
this is a story about a rapist and how it's okay for a rapist to be a rapist. People, watch Law and order: SVU. rape is a big crime. Period.
It was an interesting story butttttt....Aside from the glaring grammatical mistakes and wrong usage of words, the time jump at the end was very out of the blue. The honeymoon chapters ended so sweetly but the next chapter's time jump was very abrupt, with no warning at all because suddenly, readers were taken to 7 years later. Wait, I do have another issue with this novel. I was and am rather bothered by how the rape scene was portrayed. It was a rape scene but I felt it wasn't a rape as well.
I started reading this book with an open mind. Having not seen the TV adaptation (apparently a huge success in Malaysia), and no idea what the story is about. Upon reading, this book is wrong on so many levels.Turns out to be another rape-fest. A girl falls for her rapist. Of course, he had to be good-looking, ridiculously rich, royal-blooded, Yada... Yada... Yada. I don't understand the obsession among female Malay novelists with rape-cum-romance. Are they silently harboring some kind of sick
I say no more. Three stars.
